About Morgans Early Care Connection (MECC):

Morgans ECC is an innovative, equity-driven early care program designed to provide high-quality, student-centered learning for children aged 12 months to 4 years. We emphasize bilingual learning, culturally responsive education, and a play-based curriculum that nurtures curiosity, independence, and social-emotional growth.

As we continue to expand, we are seeking a Spanish-speaking Lead Teacher to help establish and guide a structured, engaging, and inclusive classroom for our growing early childhood program.

Position Overview:

The Lead Teacher will serve as the primary educator in a mixed-age preschool classroom, working closely with the Assistant Director and Associate Teachers to create an enriching and developmentally appropriate environment for young learners. This role is an opportunity to help shape the foundation of our growing program while fostering bilingual language development, cultural appreciation, and social-emotional skills in children.

As the program expands, this teacher will take the lead in developing new classroom spaces and guiding curriculum implementation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Planning & Implementation
    • Develop and implement a bilingual, play-based curriculum that aligns with early childhood best practices and supports Spanish and English language acquisition.
    • Facilitate engaging, interactive learning experiences that encourage creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Classroom Leadership & Management
    • Lead a structured daily routine that fosters predictability and security for children.
    • Create a safe, nurturing, and culturally affirming classroom environment.
    • Guide classroom assistants and associate teachers, providing mentorship and clear expectations.
  • Family Engagement & Communication
    • Build strong relationships with families through consistent, transparent communication.
    • Provide daily updates, progress reports, and parent conferences to keep caregivers informed and engaged.
  • Behavioral & Social-Emotional Support
    • Implement positive behavior guidance techniques that support emotional regulation and peer interactions.
    • Foster a classroom culture of respect, kindness, and inclusivity.
  • Health, Safety, & Licensing Compliance
    • Ensure compliance with Bright from the Start (BFTS) standards and other state licensing requirements.
    • Oversee proper sanitation, diapering/toileting procedures, and classroom organization.
  • Professional Growth & Collaboration
    • Participate in staff training, professional development, and curriculum meetings.
    • Work collaboratively with administration and teaching staff to adapt and improve classroom practices.

Compensation & Growth Opportunity:

  • Hourly Rate: $18-$22 per hour, based on experience and education.
  • Potential for Salary Transition: As the program grows, there may be opportunities for salaried leadership roles.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • At least 2 years of experience working with young children in a preschool, childcare, or early learning setting.
  • Strong understanding of early childhood development, play-based learning, and social-emotional education.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and take initiative in a growing, evolving program.
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire).

Preferred:

  • Degree or coursework in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of Reggio Emilia, Montessori, or other child-led learning approaches.
  • Familiarity with Bright from the Start (BFTS) licensing standards.
