Analyst Financial

Financial Analyst based in Houston, Texas . Essential Job Duties Calculating and recording monthly journal entries Preparing monthly close schedules Ensuring monthly close deadlines are met Reviewing financial statements and performing account reconciliations Analyzing financial statement activity Working closely with other departments in recording and analyzing financial data Assisting with internal and external audit requests, as well as other special projects Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related degree 5 years accounting experience Be able to complete accurate and timely work while meeting deadlines Self-motivated and able to work independently and with others Strong analytical and communication skills Ability to analyze data and reach your own conclusions Independent thinker with the ability to solve problems Proactive learner Takes accountability and strives to increase results Advanced Excel skills Experience accounting for external debt (bonds/notes/credit facilities), including interest accruals and amortization (effective interest method) Familiarity with debt accounting topics such as discounts/premiums, issuance costs, debt modifications/extinguishments, and covenant compliance Experience with month-end close processes for debt-related accounts (interest payable, deferred financing costs, discounts/premiums) and related reconciliations a plus Experience supporting audit requests and internal controls related to debt accounting, including documentation and review evidence Desired Qualifications Upstream Oil and Gas experience / background a plus SAP experience a plus A.I. experience a plus All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to age, race, creed, color, religion, sex, national origin, ancestry, disability status, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, genetic information, marital status, citizenship status or any other basis as protected by federal, state, or local law. #J-18808-Ljbffr OXY, Inc.
