In-person Adjunct Assistant Professor, Mathematics/Intro Data Science (Daytime)

Adjunct Faculty provide course instruction in a manner that ensures student comprehension, retention of knowledge, and positive engagement. This position demonstrates an understanding of course content, appropriate instructional and communication methods, and the importance of following established syllabi and adhering to College policies, guidelines and teaching requirements. Classification: Adjunct Association Instructional Duration: Semester Based Annual Yield (AY26): $950 per semester hour Residency Requirement: Resident of New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, or Florida. Location: In-person instruction at Toms River main campus required. What You Will Do Hold classes for all scheduled times, including the last scheduled class, and adhere to all established college teaching policies, guidelines, and standards. Adhere to course delivery requirements outlined in official course descriptions, master course syllabi/outline, class syllabi, and lab schedules as applicable; submit a course syllabus and course outline approved by the School Dean seven calendar days prior to the start of class. Attend departmental meetings and serve on search committees as determined by the School Dean, Dean of e‑Learning, or Vice President at their discretion. Respond to invitations to recommend textbooks or other required texts relative to the adjunct faculty member’s appropriate academic discipline and teaching assignment. Complete grading of student assignments and exams within five days; submit final grades no later than 48 hours after the conclusion of the last day of class; remain available to students during the week following the posting of final grades as mutually determined with the School Dean. Participate in student learning outcomes assessment related to the adjunct’s teaching assignment as directed by the School Dean. Adhere to all established College faculty and student absence and attendance policies, guidelines, and requirements, including the Adjunct Handbook. Prepare and maintain Canvas shells for assigned classes, record student attendance, post assignment grades and exam grades, and communicate electronically with students. Complete related projects and duties as assigned. The Successful Candidate Must Have Education: One of the following: Master's Degree in the discipline; Master's Degree in a different discipline with at least 18 graduate credits in the discipline; Master's Degree in a different discipline plus at least two years of directly related professional field experience and/or certification/licensure in the field of specialization; Bachelor's Degree in the discipline plus at least five years of directly related professional field experience and certification or licensure in the field. Prior experience teaching at the high school or college level; or experience as a trainer or in conducting group presentations. Proven communication and interpersonal skills. Recent technology experience as required of the position. Knowledge of Data Science and the R statistical programming language. Even Better If You Have Prior exposure to online course study or a Learning Management System (LMS).
