Store Manager In Training (SMIT) SMIT is a development‑focused role that prepares you for a CVS Store Manager position. The program provides self‑paced, collaborative training over 16 weeks with virtual and hands‑on experiences. Key Skills Communicate effectively in writing and verbally. Perform customer care duties to provide high‑level service. Execute merchandising strategies to support sales growth. Manage store inventory and assets to maintain profitability. Expectations Engage with your leader in key learning experiences during the structured program. Act as a management‑team member, leading consistently with CVS values and policies. Encourage colleagues toward the company’s purpose of helping people on their path to better health. Be willing to accept promotion roles within the market. Selection does not guarantee promotion to Store Manager; promotion depends on performance and openings. Qualifications Willingness to accept a promotion to Store Manager at any location in the designated market. Ability to transfer to other CVS Pharmacy stores within the designated market. Ability to work a schedule that may vary based on business needs. High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred. Retail management experience or prior CVS Supervisor experience.
