High School Science Teacher

Mora High School is seeking a Science Teacher. The ideal candidate will inspire students to explore the wonders of physical science, fostering critical thinking and a love for learning. Responsibilities Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with state standards and curriculum objectives. Utilize technology and hands‑on experiments to enhance learning experiences and facilitate understanding of complex concepts. Communicate regularly with students, parents, and faculty regarding student performance and classroom activities. Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in science education. Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary projects and initiatives that enrich the educational experience. Contribute to school events and extracurricular activities to promote student engagement and community involvement. Requirements Valid state teaching certification in General Science 5‑8 or Chemistry. Strong knowledge of physical science concepts and the ability to convey them effectively to students. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a passion for fostering student engagement. Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment that accommodates diverse learning styles. Experience with classroom management and instructional strategies that promote student success. Proficiency in using technology and educational software to enhance teaching and learning.
