Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) position in Illinois. This role involves providing care for adult and geriatric patients on a 23-bed medical-surgical unit within an acute care facility. The RN will be responsible for patient monitoring, managing IV lines, and ensuring adherence to clinical protocols, including PICC line management and starting IVs. The position requires a commitment to patient safety and quality care, with a focus on neurological disorders and stroke care.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Nights, starting at 1845, with 3 shifts per week, totaling at least 36 hours weekly.
• Required Qualifications: Valid Illinois nursing license, minimum of 1 year of clinical experience, BLS certification, NIHSS certification, active IL license or in application process with ETA, willingness to work every other weekend, minimum 1 year experience required.
• Preferred Qualifications: Previous charge nurse experience, familiarity with Cerner charting system, experience managing PICC lines, and knowledge of neurological and stroke patient care.
• Additional Information: Candidate must have PICC line management experience and experience with starting IVs. Cerner charting experience is preferred. Will be floating within scope as needed. The unit cares for adult and geriatric patients with diagnoses including ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, TIA, subdural hematoma, seizures, and postoperative neurology patients. Special procedures include EEG and lumbar puncture. The first day is a virtual orientation; modules must be completed by 4:00 PM CST.
