Job Summary:
The organization is seeking an Intermediate Care Unit Registered Nurse in Springfield, Illinois. This full-time position involves working a 12-hour shift schedule during daytime hours, providing care in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. The RN will manage a broad spectrum of clinical responsibilities, including telemetry monitoring, post-procedure care, and emergency response.

Job Details:

• Shift: 3x12 Days (0645-1915)
• Schedule: Work less than 36 hours per week, with a minimum of 36 hours guaranteed per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid Illinois RN license, minimum 1 year hospital experience required, experience in telemetry, neuro stepdown, PCU/IMC/Stepdown, BLS and NIHSS certifications required, ACLS preferred.
• Certifications: BLS, NIHSS; ACLS preferred.
• Experience: 1 year of hospital experience with telemetry, neuro, or stepdown units.
• Patient Ratios: Approximately 4 patients per nurse, with capacity to float within the scope when needed.
• Additional Requirements: Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, ventilated patients, post-procedure care, and emergency response Teams.
• Special Procedures/Unit Details: Fast-paced unit with high patient throughput, including tracheostomy care, ventilator management, and complex cardiac and neurological cases.
• Patient Age Group: Adults
• Daily Census: About 34 patients.
• Orientation Hours: 24 hours, virtual orientation on the first day.
• Start Date: 07/20/2026
• Location: 701 N 1st St, Springfield, IL 62781.
• Additional Notes: Open to local candidates; must have active Illinois license; candidates with no prior experience are not accepted. Floating within the scope is required, and candidates must be prepared for a high-acuity environment with rapid patient turnover.
