Job Summary:
A registered nurse specializing in medical surgical care is needed for a facility located in Springfield, Illinois. This position involves providing comprehensive nursing care on a 23-bed acute care hospital's medical surgical unit, with a focus on adult and geriatric patient populations. The role is scheduled for night shifts starting on July 27, 2026, and offers a dynamic environment for qualified practitioners.

Job Details:

• Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts, with a scheduled start time of 7:45 PM, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid Illinois nursing license, BLS (Basic Life Support), and NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) certifications. At least 1 year of clinical experience in a similar setting is preferred; no minimum experience required.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience managing PICC lines, starting IVs, and familiarity with hospital charting systems, specifically Cerner, is preferred. Previous charge nurse experience is also a plus.
• Responsibilities: Provide patient-centered care for individuals with diagnoses including ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, brain mass, seizures, neurosurgical procedures, and neurological disorders. Competence in PICC line management, spinal cord injury care, and electroencephalogram procedures is required.
• Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours weekly.
• Additional Information: Float rotation may be required to meet operational needs. Candidates must have active licensure in Illinois or be in process with an ETA for licensure. Candidates should be available for 2 of the 3 major holidays and be able to work every other weekend.
• Submission Requirements: Candidates must be pre-closed at the time of submission, with confirmed interview availability, housing review, and RTO/SD confirmations. SSN and DOB are required at submission. All required certifications should be current and included.
