Produce Sales Associate

Location 1001 Twin Arch Road Job Description Weis Markets is looking for a Produce Associate to manage the produce department, ensuring shelves are stocked, displays are attractive, and customers receive courteous service. The role requires cleaning, stocking, pricing, and maintaining food safety standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Keeps the produce department well stocked, appealing, and meeting customer demands. Smiles and greets customers, answers questions, handles special requests, and resolves concerns promptly and professionally. Unpacks cartons and crates of merchandise, cleans and trims produce, stocks area with new merchandise, rotates stock for freshness, applies correct pricing and signage, and maintains salad bar and cut fruit/vegetable sections. Assists in building attractive displays, accurately completes product logs, and handles spoiled, damaged, new, and discontinued items per company policy. Maintains general sanitation in the department, follows cleaning schedules and guidelines to meet health and OSHA requirements, and disposes of trash properly. Assists in minimizing shrink, controlling damages, and reports shortages and overages to the manager. May assist with receiving, unloading, checking-in, breaking down, and storing deliveries using a power jack or hand jack (training provided). May assist with baling cardboard or related duties (training provided). Works cooperatively with co‑workers and superiors to ensure smooth store operation and continuously improves job performance. Uses all company-provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as cut‑resistant gloves, safety cutters, and company-sponsored footwear. May also be called upon to assist in other departments. Supervisory Responsibilities This position currently has no supervisory responsibilities. Qualification Requirements To perform this job successfully, the associate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with or without an accommodation. The requirements include: Completed or working toward a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED). No prior experience required. Rate Of Pay And Benefits The hourly pay for this position starts at $16.00 and is up to $22.00.
