SUMMARY The Directives Coordinator provides Directives support to FAA by coordinating tracking and reporting on an array of Directives support activities including project coordination from start to finish, managing trackers, and other project coordination around publications. ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS Must be able to pass a background check for customer access. Requires U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident status. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Support the Flight Standards (FS) Directives Management Officer (DMO) with the FS Publications program. Coordinate directives projects as the Office of Primary Responsibility Point of Contact (POC) for advice and consent. Enter and track directive information using SharePoint lists and other collaboration tools. Monitor the AFB-120 Directives Mailbox daily for incoming tasks and inquiries. Organize publication packages, apply minimal edits, and correct formatting. Review FS Directives, ACs, and other documents in electronic Final Clearance Packages (eFCPs). Route to AFS-1 and AFX-1 (if applicable) for review, final signature, and approval. Track the status of all packages through completion. Update the FS Directives Tracking and Processing SharePoint site with routing and completion information. Review external Directives and other document packages received from the FAA DMO and AVS DMO. Determine which FS divisions and offices (stakeholders) need to review the documents. Disseminate the document package (document, Clearance Record (CR), and Comment Form (CF)) to applicable stakeholders for review and sign‑off. Return the AFS-1 or AFX-1 signed CR with comments (if any) back to the FAA DMO/AVS DMO. Assist the DMO in elevating no‑response projects. Email divisions and Senior Technical Advisors (STAs) to request status updates when tech writers report no response, and provide updates back to tech writers as requested. Review and update the New Documents in Formal Coordination section on the FS Document Collaboration Review Team (DCRT) SharePoint site every Wednesday by noon before the DCRT meeting. Upload draft documents, Executive Summary Forms (ESFs), Coordination CRs, Comment Forms, and consolidated document list spreadsheets. Process Public Comment and Priority Processing requests/packages to AFS-1 for review and signature/approval. Review and process STC letters received from AFS-100. Perform Section508 accessibility processing to make documents compliant. Monitor and review PIF notification emails sent to the AFB-120 Directives mailbox and send PIF email notifications to stakeholders and the Leidos team. Plan daily activities within company policy, job description, and supervisor’s instruction to maximize personal output. Assist with own self‑development by being available and receptive to all provided training. Other duties may be assigned. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree in a business‑related field and a minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. JOB SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES Navigate FS publications guidance and apply process and procedure in accordance with the FS Directives process. Proficient with Microsoft Office 2016 applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Teams, Visio). Proficient with Adobe Acrobat; convert Word (.docx) files to PDF; create basic form fields (checkboxes, date boxes, fillable lines/boxes, digital signature blocks). Experienced with WinZip for compressing large directive packages. Apply basic knowledge of Section508 accessibility process. Route packages for AFX‑1 review/signature through the FAA’s Electronic Document Management System (EDMS) (if applicable). LANGUAGE SKILLS Read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Write routine reports and correspondence. Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Add and subtract two‑digit numbers; multiply and divide by 10s and 100s. Perform these operations using units of money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. REASONING ABILITY Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables where limited standardization exists. Interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Work primarily in an office environment; regularly sit, use hands, speak, and hear. Occasionally stand, walk, stoop, kneel, or crawl. Frequently lift and/or move up to 10lb and occasionally up to 25lb. Requires good close and distance vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment. Exposed to general office noise.
