CLERK TYPIST 2

Clerk Typist 2

This is a merit hire position. The starting pay rate for this position is $16.00. This position is covered by a Collective Bargaining Agreement. Dauphin County Children & Youth Services is currently accepting applications for a full-time position of Clerk Typist 2. The Clerk Typist 2, performs responsible and moderately complex clerical functions, providing clerical support services for the Dauphin County Children & Youth Services Agency personnel. He/she performs Receptionist duties in a back-up capacity and in doing so, acts as the first point of contact for the Agency providing customer service by greeting and directing clients and other members of the public in person and answering the telephone, transferring callers as may be appropriate. Work involves performing clerical functions in a dynamic environment and requires the utilization of organization and typing skills. This position requires adaptability and functions with some independence.

Minimum Education, Experience, and Training Requirements:

  • Six months of typing experience and a High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Or Completion of a high school business curriculum and a High School Diploma
  • Or equivalent which included at least one typing course.

Other Requirements:

At the time of hire, a valid driver's license and positive driving record, a favorable criminal background check, child abuse and FBI clearances, as well as favorable references, are required. The applicant must provide proof of a valid Pennsylvania driver's license within 60 days from the date of hire. An alternative form of identification will be accepted if you are not eligible to receive a Pennsylvania driver's license under 67 PA. Code § 83 and driving is not an essential function of the position.
