Vice President, Planning and Forecasting (COE Lead)

Role Overview The Vice President, Planning and Forecasting will lead the design, build, and operation of a new Center of Excellence (COE) for Forecasting and Planning, transforming enterprise forecasting capabilities across Universal Music Group’s global organization. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain driver‑based forecast models linking operational drivers to revenue and cost categories. Shape AI/ML‑enabled forecasting use cases for profit centers to reduce manual effort and improve accuracy. Own and evolve scenario modeling tools, continuously improving forecasting methodologies and approaches. Govern planning data, logic, and tools across profit and cost centers, ensuring consistency and accurate data capture. Develop training materials, train FP&A teams, and drive consistent adoption of planning tools. Collect enhancement requests, maintain and prioritize the tool backlog, and partner with CDAO to develop new capabilities. Collaborate with Corp Controllership, CIO, CDAO, Senior VP Strategic Finance & Planning, and BI & Analytics COE to align data foundations and modernize the planning platform. Build, lead, and mentor a high‑performing Global Forecasting COE. Qualifications 12–15+ years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or strategic planning. Deep expertise in financial planning, forecasting methodologies, and driver‑based modeling. Experience implementing and governing enterprise planning tools (e.g., Anaplan, OneStream, custom builds). Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with comfort using AI/ML forecasting approaches. Ability to translate complex modeling concepts into practical tools and drive their adoption across the business. Demonstrated experience driving tool adoption.
