Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Great opportunities are available for Special Education Teachers passionate about supporting elementary-aged students in contract roles near Rochester, MI. Openings include positions in both Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Therapeutic Program elementary classrooms, each designed to provide a rewarding professional experience within a supportive and collaborative school environment.
In these roles, you’ll work full-time with an elementary caseload in specialized classroom settings. The ASD program features a multidisciplinary support team, including Speech, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, and Physical Therapy, along with three dedicated paraprofessionals for each classroom. The therapeutic program provides services to approximately ten students and benefits from a strong, team-focused environment with three paraprofessionals supporting daily instruction. Notably, these positions do not involve toileting or lifting responsibilities.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Michigan Special Education Certification required
- Experience working with elementary-aged students
- Familiarity with ASD populations preferred for ASD program roles
- Experience with behavioral and therapeutic populations preferred for therapeutic program roles
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and small-group instruction to students with special needs
- Develop and implement IEPs in collaboration with related service providers
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and structured classroom community
- Participate in team meetings, professional development, and parent communication
- Supervise and provide direction to classroom paraprofessionals
