About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in an urban, Level I Trauma Emergency Department. License: Valid RN license required. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required. Must-Have: Prior experience in urban, Level I Trauma Emergency Department. Description: Position is for a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room. The patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:4. Experience in a teaching hospital is preferred. First-time travelers are accepted. Every other weekend commitment is required. Floating to other areas may be necessary. Certifications such as TNCC and CPI are preferred but not required. This position involves caring for patients across various age groups including adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. The average daily census is 86 with an equal number of visits per day. The unit comprises 16 rooms and 16 beds. Staffing and scheduling are self-managed. The position requires the ability to handle various patient diagnoses including abdominal pain, acute psychosis, asthma, burns, cerebrovascular accidents, drug overdose, and more. Skills in managing mental health conditions, splint applications, and emergency medications are essential. Knowledge of the Epic charting system is required. Modules are completed during the initial onboarding process. All applicants must submit their information using their legal first and last names for the background check and onboarding process. Less than 2 years of experience may be accepted for this position. Candidates must have their RN license in hand. All other allied positions will require state or national certification and/or licensing. Requests for block scheduling or special shifts need to be made during the interview and cannot be accommodated after the offer is accepted.
