Job Title: Fabrication Shop Technician

Location: San Jose, CA, US

Duration: 18 Months Contract

**Shift: 1st Shift

Pay Rate: $35.00 - $40.00/Hr. On W2Pa**

Job Summary

• We are seeking a skilled Fabrication Shop Technician to support tooling fabrication, assembly, testing, and modification activities. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with precision assembly, fabrication processes, troubleshooting, and mechanical systems. This role involves working closely with engineers and machine shops to build, modify, and maintain specialized tooling and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Fabricate and assemble tooling from blueprints, drawings, and verbal instructions.
• Perform precision assembly and alignment procedures on reactor repair tooling.
• Work with EDM and welding actuators, measurement tools, calibration equipment, and centering fixtures.
• Design, detail, and implement modifications to prototype tooling.
• Perform retrofits and upgrades to existing tools and equipment.
• Support tool and test engineers during fabrication, assembly, functional testing, and validation activities.
• Coordinate with internal and external machine and fabrication shops.
• Assist with procurement and pickup of components from suppliers and vendors.
• Troubleshoot tooling issues and recommend effective solutions.
• Maintain quality and safety standards throughout fabrication and assembly processes.

Required Qualifications

• Experience in fabrication, assembly, or tooling environments.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Experience with precision measurement and calibration equipment.
• Knowledge of tool development techniques and fabrication processes.
• Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with pneumatic, hydraulic, and electro-mechanical motion control systems.
• Welding and EDM experience.
• Prototype development and tooling modification experience.
• Prior experience supporting engineering or testing teams.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities.

Additional Information

• Onsite position in San Jose, CA.
• First shift schedule.
• No travel required.
