PAMI is seeking a service-oriented Apartment Maintenance Technician to join our high-performing maintenance team in Austin. This position is responsible for performing a wide range of routine maintenance and repair tasks on residential buildings, grounds, and mechanical systems to ensure safe, functional, and well-maintained properties. What you will do in this position:Maintenance & RepairsPerform routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance on residential units and property structuresDiagnose and repair issues related to electrical systems, plumbing, and appliancesComplete basic carpentry work, including repairs to doors, windows, screens, and roofing componentsWork Orders & DocumentationRespond to and complete service requests in a timely and professional mannerAccurately document work performed in service requests, maintenance logs, and inspection reportsCommunicate repair needs, material usage, and unresolved issues to supervisorsEquipment & Systems UpkeepInspect and maintain building systems and mechanical equipment to ensure proper operationConduct regular inspections to identify maintenance needs and potential safety concernsEnsure tools and equipment are properly maintained and used safelySafety & ComplianceFollow all safety policies and procedures, including proper handling of tools and cleaning agentsAdhere to company standards, local codes, and regulatory requirementsMaintain a clean and safe work environmentGeneral SupportAssist with property upkeep, unit turns, and other maintenance projects as neededSupport team members and contribute to overall property maintenance goalsPerform other duties as assigned More about this position:High school diploma or GED requiredMinimum of one (1) year of related experience in building maintenance or vocational training in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, or a related fieldEquivalent combination of education and experience will be consideredWorking knowledge of general maintenance practices, including:CarpentryPlumbingElectrical repairsAbility to read and write in EnglishAbility to read and understand moderately complex repair manuals, safety instructions, and chemical labelsStrong documentation skills, including writing service requests and maintenance reportsMust supply personally owned hand tools required for the positionValid Texas Driver's License requiredMust be able to provide copies of diplomas/transcripts and driving record Benefits:Paid sick leave, annual leave, birthday leave & federal holidays 100% of employee health insurance premiums paid by the agency Supplemental health, dental, vision, and life insurance options for employees and family Employee Assistance Program For a more detailed description of our compensation/benefits offered, go to the following website: APPLICATIONS FOR EMPLOYMENT: Application for the open posted position must be submitted via online at the following website:  However, we will accept applications at the Housing Authority of the City of Austin, 1124 S.
