About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Catheterization Laboratory Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 8 hours (7am - 3pm, Monday - Friday) Experience: Minimum of 2 years in Critical Care, PACU, or CCU required License: Current RN license Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: - Minimum of 2 years of Critical Care, PACU, or CCU experience is required Description: This position is for a Prep/Recovery unit handling PACU patients post catheterization and vascular procedures. Candidates must have at least 2 years of experience in Critical Care, PACU, or CCU. The unit consists of 12 beds with an average of 17-20 patients per day, usually cared for by the same nurse before and after the procedure to ensure continuity of care. Candidates should be comfortable performing neurovascular checks, which may include Dopplers. Experience with infusions, such as nitroglycerin and heparin, is preferred. Candidates will be responsible for site management and may occasionally use TR band or groin device compression techniques. Post-anesthesia experience is desirable, particularly with blood pressure management. Familiarity with monitoring devices, such as EKGs, glucometers, and iSTAT, is beneficial. Support within the department includes nursing assistants and a charge nurse who occasionally takes patients. Respiratory therapy is available 24/7. Telemetry monitoring is conducted at both the patient bedside and the nursing station. There is a possibility of floating to other areas, as discussed during the interview. No weekend rotations or on-call duties are required, and the unit is closed on major holidays. All requests for time off will be approved by the manager. Scrubs will be provided, and the unit has a positive culture with well-coordinated teamwork. Repeat travelers are welcomed and commonly found in the unit.
