Dix Hills Animal Hospital is looking for a fulltime Veterinary Assistants to join our Team! We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team on a full-time basis. The role will involve assisting our veterinarians in a General Practice settings. This is a dynamic position that requires flexibility, compassion, and a strong work ethic. The ideal candidate will have a genuine love for animals, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Job Responsibilities Responsibilities include, but not limited to: Assist veterinarians with examinations, treatments, and surgical procedures Provide compassionate care and support to patients and their owners Maintain cleanliness and organization of hospital and equipment Handle and restrain animals safely and effectively Participate in the care of hospitalized patients Adhere to hospital core values, policies and procedures at all times Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure the highest standard of patient care Qualifications Previous experience working in a veterinary hospital or similar setting is preferred, but we are happy to train the right candidate! Knowledge of basic animal care and medical terminology Ability to handle and restrain animals safely and effectively Must be able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds or heavier Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Flexibility to work weekends, holidays Willingness to learn and take direction from veterinarians and senior staff members Compassionate nature and genuine love for animals In addition, all full-time hospital team members receive VSOP® grants, SUVETO’S VETERINARY STOCK OWNERSHIP PLAN, at no cost to team members.
