Job Opportunity – Cardiothoracic Surgeon – Utah

Schedule: 24-hour call coverage only (no clinic coverage). Specific week-long assignments.

Highlights:

• Level II trauma center call coverage requiring both cardiovascular and thoracic surgery capabilities
• Patient volume: approximately 10-12 patients per week, 3-5 consults over 7 days, 1-3 surgeries per week
• Typical case mix: 1 cardiac and 2-3 thoracic cases per week; facility performs approximately 80 cardiac cases annually
• EMR: Meditech
• Hospital-provided vein harvest team available
• NP support available Monday-Thursday 8am-5pm for rounding assistance (provider responsible for rounding outside these hours)

Requirements:

• Active Utah medical license (must be in hand prior to start)
• Active Utah DEA (must be in hand prior to start)
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiothoracic Surgery
• Proficiency in both cardiovascular and thoracic surgical procedures
• Ability to perform cases independently without surgical assistant
• Level II trauma center experience preferred
