Nurse Extern Medical Surgical PRN

Overview Mission Health, a leading healthcare provider based in Asheville, NC, is seeking a Nurse Extern for our Medical Surgical unit on a PRN basis. In this role, you will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to provide safe, compassionate, and evidence-based care to adult and geriatric patients with a wide range of medical and post-surgical conditions. As an integral member of our collaborative care team, you will assist with activities of daily living, obtain and document vital signs, perform basic clinical procedures within defined scope, support mobility and ambulation, and help ensure a clean, safe, and healing environment for patients and families. You will partner closely with RNs, physicians, therapists, and support staff to reinforce care plans, observe and promptly report changes in patient condition, and contribute to high-quality, patient-centered care. This Nurse Extern position is designed for current nursing students who are eager to advance their clinical skills, build confidence on a busy Med-Surg unit, and gain valuable experience in a professional, growth-oriented environment.
