Department Manager

Job Overview Department Manager – responsible for overseeing one of the restaurant’s Departments (Guest Service, Kitchen, or People). Manage assigned systems such as training, food safety, inventory, etc., lead teams, set goals, delegate tasks, follow up, and report results. Responsibilities Lead shifts weekly, ensuring fast, accurate, friendly customer service. Manage assigned Department (Guest Service, Kitchen, or People) and the systems within that Department (e.g., training, food safety, inventory). Set departmental goals and delegate tasks to crew and managers. Follow up on tasks, resolve issues, and report results to the crew and other managers. For Guest Service Department: ensure crew and managers deliver great customer experience, execute sales promotions, train staff in service procedures, and maintain organization of Front Counter McCafé and Drive‑Thru areas. For Kitchen Department: ensure high‑quality, safe, fast food delivery, control food cost, and train kitchen staff in production procedures, including new menu items. For People Department: hire qualified crew, train and schedule them, provide a good onboarding experience, and maintain crew motivation and recognition. Employment Context This position is in a restaurant owned and operated by an independent franchisee, not by McDonald’s Corporation or McDonald’s USA, LLC. The franchisee is solely responsible for all employment‑related matters.
