Payment Processing Specialist (Contract) Pay: $23.00-$26.00/hour Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM Assignment Length: Approximately 6 weeks with potential for extension. We are currently seeking a detail-oriented Payment Processor to join a busy financial operations team. This temporary opportunity is ideal for candidates with strong data entry skills and experience handling high-volume financial transactions. Responsibilities Process daily consumer payments accurately and efficiently. Sort and distribute incoming payments and correspondence. Research and resolve payment discrepancies. Post checks and money orders to customer accounts. Reconcile payment batches and resolve balancing issues. Process returned payments and related account adjustments. Manage department email communications and transaction requests. Maintain strict confidentiality of customer and financial information. Provide support across multiple payment processing functions as needed. Qualifications Excellent data entry and keyboarding skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Previous experience in payment processing, cash application, banking, accounts receivable, lockbox processing, or a similar financial operations environment preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Reliable attendance and ability to maintain a consistent work schedule. Education High School Diploma or GED required. Additional education in Accounting, Finance, or Business is a plus.
