Founded in 1952, the Institute continues to train physician-scientists and manage healthcare programs for 60,000 underserved families throughout South Los Angeles.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESEvaluation chemical and physical hazards within the organization to ensure compliance with Cal-OSHA Laboratory StandardReview and update policies, procedures and manualsConduct physical inspections of laboratories, fume hoods, gas cylinders, chemicals, PPE practices, etc.Review chemical inventories, laboratory SOPs, training documentation, safety data sheets, inspection/audit findingsReview IIP, EAP, chemical hygiene plan, job safety analysis, spill logsReview vendor contracts and waste manifests and chemical purchasingResearch and recommend practical solutions for improvement of the programQUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in environmental safety, occupational safety and health or a related field.Extensive knowledge of environmental safety regulations and policies and Cal OSHA laws and regulations.Seven to 10 years of related experiencePlease ensure your application is complete and signed; incomplete submissions will not be considered.Position requires a background check and health clearanceEqual Opportunity Employer/Affirmative Action/Drug-Free Workplace #J-18808-Ljbffr Lundquist Institute For Biomedical Innovation At Harbor-ucla
