Registered Nurse - Utilization Review Travel RN Job in Charlottesville, Virginia

Experienced Utilization Review RN needed for a 13-week travel assignment in Charlottesville, VA 22903. Duration: 13-week assignment
Schedule: 5 shifts per week
Shift Duration: 8 Hour Days
Shift Hours: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Weekend Requirement: 2-3 weekend shifts per contract, approximately every 4th weekend
Holiday Requirement: Must work 2 out of 3 winter holidays
Hours Per Week: 40

Job Requirements

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required; Virginia RN license pending may be considered
At least 1 year of acute care hospital inpatient case management experience required
Travel nursing experience or Epic experience required
Strong clinical review, utilization management, documentation, and communication skills
Ability to work effectively with physicians, case management, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary hospital teams

Responsibilities

Perform utilization review activities for inpatient acute care cases
Assess medical necessity and appropriateness of admissions, continued stays, and services
Collaborate with case management, physicians, nursing staff, and payers to support efficient patient care progression
Document reviews, findings, and determinations accurately in the electronic medical record
Support compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and payer guidelines
Participate in discharge planning, care coordination, and utilization management as needed
