Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an IMC/Stepdown position requiring telemetry, oncology, cardiac, ventilator, and transplant experience along with a WI or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the IMC Acute Med/Progressive Care unit (D6/5) and IMC Thoracic unit (B4/3) of a hospital environment
• Care for telemetry, oncology, cardiac, and PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown patient populations
• Uses Epic for charting
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00pm-7:30am, Monday through Friday
• Every other weekend and some holidays required
• Floating required as needed

Requirements

• Active WI RN license or compact RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS (AHA only)
• Minimum 2 years acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty
• Academic Level I or II trauma center or similar size hospital experience required
• Trauma Level I and Level II experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Ventilator and transplant patient care experience required
• Prior travel experience required
• Must pass a telemetry exam with strict passing criteria prior to starting, including 100% identification of lethal rhythms and an 80% or higher overall score

Additional Information

• Provide bedside nursing care including IV therapy, central/PICC/arterial line management, blood product administration, and post-transplant care
• Manage ventilated and tracheostomy patients including BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and ABG interpretation
• Monitor and manage cardiac dysrhythmias, titrate cardiac drips, and utilize rapid response/code teams
• Care for patients requiring wound care, wound vac management, and isolation precautions/PPE
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility as local candidates are not accepted
• Located at University Hospital in Madison, a Magnet-designated facility ranked as Wisconsin's #1 hospital
• Parking permit required through UW Transportation if parking onsite, with alternative transportation options available
