Pay as Cross Country posts it: about $2,146 a week in all, a taxable rate of $24.42 an hour plus $1,267 a week in housing and meal stipends.
Job Summary
Registered Nurse — Emergency Room. This position provides emergency care in an acute care setting, including patient triage, assessment, stabilization, treatment, medication administration, intravenous access, and coordination of inpatient admissions or transfers. The role works as part of a multidisciplinary team on a set schedule with weekend rotation and no on-call requirement.
Job Details
- Required Qualifications: Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Room experience, including experience in an emergency department with annual volumes of 14,000 or more; previous Emergency Room travel experience; current Ohio Registered Nurse license or compact license; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA); Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA); Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA); electronic charting experience; and demonstrated skill with intravenous starts.
- Preferred Qualifications: Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification and National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
- Schedule: Day shift from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week, every third weekend, and no call.
- Additional Information: Responsibilities include triaging and assessing emergency patients; administering oral, intramuscular, and intravenous medications; managing critical drips and moderate sedation; reporting to inpatient units; transporting admitted patients; stabilizing patients requiring transfer; performing electrocardiograms; drawing blood during intravenous starts; and assisting with reductions, chest tubes, central lines, intubations, and rapid sequence intubations. The typical patient assignment is 3 to 4 patients per nurse. Electronic charting and electronic medication administration systems are used.
