We're looking for an EHS Specialist to serve as the on-site safety leader for our Racine manufacturing facility, partnering directly with employees, supervisors, and leadership to build a stronger safety culture and create a safer workplace every day.This role offers a unique opportunity to take ownership of meaningful safety initiatives, influence change across multiple manufacturing processes, and help shape the future of EHS at one of our key facilities. From leading Job Safety Analyses and improving lockout/tagout programs to coaching teams and driving continuous improvement, your work will have a visible and lasting impact.If you're someone who enjoys being on the floor, solving problems, building relationships, and making a real difference, we'd love to talk with you.Key Responsibilities• Implement, administer, and continuously improve Badger Meter’s EHS policies, processes, and programs to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.• Conduct regular safety and environmental inspections, ensuring operational controls are in place and corrective actions are completed promptly.• Provide guidance to employees and supervisors on safe work practices, hazard identification, and risk mitigation.• Support the development and maintenance of programs such as fire prevention, emergency response, ergonomic assessments, evacuation planning, and weather‑related procedures.• Develop and report monthly EHS metrics, including injury and illness data, identifying trends and recommending corrective actions.• Respond to safety and environmental concerns, providing immediate support and coordinating urgent response efforts when needed.• Lead or participate in incident investigations, including injuries, property damage, and near misses; manage workers’ compensation reporting, monitoring, and return‑to‑work coordination.• Maintain and audit safety training records; support and deliver training sessions as needed.• Work on key safety initiatives such as Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) updates, and safety talk audits.• Travel up to 10% to support additional facilities.Education & Experience• Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, environmental studies, health and safety, safety management, or a related field required; significant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree• 3+ years of experience in environmental, health, and safety• Candidates must have hands‑on safety experienceQualifications• Working knowledge of OSHA, NIOSH, ACGIH, EPA, DOT, WDNR, and other applicable regulations.• Strong ability to identify hazards and develop effective solutions.• Experience with environmental a plus.• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.Why This Role Stands Out• High autonomy: You’ll own the safety function on site and have the freedom to implement improvements.• Variety of work: Racine’s diverse production lines mean constant learning and new challenges.• Impact: Your work directly improves employee safety and operational performance.• Supportive onboarding: Leadership will be present to ensure your success.#SP123Competitive Total Rewards at Badger Meter:Competitive PayAnnual Bonus Eligible for Annual Pay Increases Comprehensive Health, Vision, and Dental Coverage 15 days Paid Time Off + 11 Paid Holidays Two Ways to Save for Retirement: Badger Meter contributes 25 cents for every dollar you contribute to the plan, up to 7% of your eligible compensation.
