Identify, analyze and develop solutions to improve team‑related issues. Coordinate complex financial workup for consultations, ancillary and other related services per clinical scheduling protocols. Oversee the preregistration process to completion, which will include insurance verification, referral/authorization, precertification (when applicable), financial work‑up, financial collection, inform patients of all financial liabilities and input documentation into the appropriate computer systems for inpatient and outpatient services. Serve as a resource for patients and physicians to contact regarding financial inquiries within JHMI. Serve as patient advocate to ensure patients have access to the appropriate clinical services. Provide patients with educational material and physician information. Also provide directions to other affiliates and clinical locations when necessary. May be asked to perform scheduling functions when required. Maintain financial records according to departmental protocol. Minimum Qualifications A.A. degree required (or 3–4 years equivalent work‑related experience may be substituted); B.A. degree preferred. Three (3) years related medical office, hospital, medical call center or similar customer service environment. Extensive medical insurance processing; medical billing experience preferred. Comprehensive medical and insurance terminology; comprehensive knowledge of hospital and physician referral protocols; comprehensive knowledge of medical insurance plans, billing and regulations, especially managed care plans. EPIC certification required within 90 days. Salary Range: Minimum 22.33/hour – Maximum 36.86/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
