Working Conditions:
Frequent work both inside and outside and during inclement weather conditions, including heat, cold, humidity. Work hours will be dictated by the site's operational needs. Nights, weekends, and holiday hours may be required, and work schedule may vary. Must be able to work flexible schedules with little or no advance notice.
Physical Requirements:
Requires standing for long periods of time in all weather conditions. Requires intermittent sitting, walking, running, climbing, squatting, stretching, bending, and kneeling.

- Remains alert and vigilant, observes and reports activities and incidents at an assigned General Motors site, function or executive residence, providing for the security and safety of General Motors personnel.
- Maintains focus and awareness while working in a stressful environment to preserve the professional ability to identify and locate potentially life-threatening situations and make effective decisions in both crisis and routine situations. Must be able to operate in any stressful environments including noise from alarms, machinery and people; crowd distractions; time pressure, etc.
- Engages in continuous development of critical thinking skills necessary to mitigate actual and potential threats by identifying, evaluating and applying appropriate situational options and approaches. This may include application of risk-based security assessments.
- Retains and implements knowledge of all applicable Standard Operating Procedures. Demonstrates responsible and dependable behavior, is open to change and adapts to new information or unexpected obstacles.
- Carries out all responsibilities in an honest, ethical and professional manner.
- Assures compliance with applicable sections of General Motors Global Security Manual, as well as the supplier Standard Operating Procedures and Policy manual.
- Preserves order and may act to enforce regulations and directives for the site pertaining to personnel, visitors and premises.
- Communicate in a manner that is open, honest and responsive in all situations, to the extent authorized.
- Prepares logs and reports as required for site; writes or types reports or enters information in a computer using standard grammar; inspects security control logs and takes action as required.
- Protects evidence and/or scene of incident in the event of accidents, emergencies or security investigations; sets up barriers and signage and provides direction or information to others - as appropriate.
- Responds to incidents commensurate level of training, including Use of Force.
- Carries out specific tasks and duties of a similar nature and scope as required for the assigned site.
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Sworn law enforcement officer.
- In a military service occupation that required you to train in and carry firearms (e.g., military police, special forces, etc.). An honorable discharge from the military or the law enforcement equivalent is required.
- Maintains a Concealed Pistol License (CPL) or Law Enforcement Officer Safety Act (LEOSA).
- Maintains any applicable licensing requirements for armed security officers.
- Maintains basic first aid and CPR certifications.
- Pass a recognized psychological testing to ensure fit for the position.
- Pass a physical examination.
- Must pass a background investigation and drug and alcohol-screening test, to include cannabis.
- Ability to maintain professional composure when dealing with unusual circumstances.
- Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or use of diagrams.
- Knowledge of multiple languages (preferred).

- Job operates in client sites which could be indoors, outdoors or both, depending on assignment.
- Position may require prolonged standing and walking, in the performance of daily security activities.
- The role may require the ability to remain standing at a fixed post for extended periods of time with limited opportunities to sit, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- The role may require the ability to perform continuous foot patrols for long distances while maintaining situational awareness, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- The position may require the ability to lift and carry up to 30-50 pounds safely and repeatedly
- The role may require the ability to work at elevated heights, including safely ascending and descending ladders, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- The role may require the ability to respond rapidly to incidents, which may involve quick movement, prolonged standing, or rapid changes in direction, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- The position may require the ability to drive company or client vehicles for long periods of time when assigned
- The role may require the ability to safely operate golf carts or similar utility vehicles
- Some assignments may require bicycle patrol for long periods of time.
- The position may include other physically demanding tasks as required by the post e.g., restraining individuals, breaking seals on semi-trailers, opening secured containers, and other tasks as needed.
- Work may require to be available for various shifts and Holidays as assigned.
- The role may require to perform additional ad hoc duties and responsibilities as assignment.
