Paralegal Supervisor - California Employment Litigation This role requires a minimum of 3 years of civil litigation experience in California courts. California-specific litigation experience is required. Experience limited to other states will not be considered. Employment litigation experience is strongly preferred. California Employment Litigation | Fully Remote | Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Pacific Time | $75,000-$90,000 QUICK SUMMARY Supervise and develop a remote litigation support team at a California plaintiff-side employment law firm. This role is for an experienced employment litigation paralegal who wants to move away from daily production work and into mentoring, training, and team leadership, with a predictable Monday-Friday schedule. WHY LABOR LAW PC Labor Law PC is a California plaintiff-side employment law firm representing employees in matters involving discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, retaliation, and wage-and-hour violations. We are a fully remote, international team of approximately 40 people with systems and litigation support infrastructure built to help our legal teams do high-quality work. We are looking for an experienced employment litigation paralegal who can help strengthen our people, quality, and litigation operations as the firm grows. THE ROLE This is a supervisory and mentoring role built for someone who wants to use deep litigation experience without carrying the day-to-day production workload of a traditional paralegal position. You will supervise our filing clerk, calendar clerk, and legal assistant while providing training, mentorship, and procedural guidance to law clerks supporting our attorneys. You will be a key resource for California employment litigation procedure, filing requirements, deadlines, service issues, and litigation workflows. You will also review case activity for accuracy, identify gaps before they become problems, and help implement department procedures. You may occasionally step into hands-on case-related work when circumstances or workload demands require it, but that is the exception rather than the focus of the role. WHAT YOU'LL DO Supervise and Develop the Team Supervise the filing clerk, calendar clerk, and legal assistant Mentor, train and coach new paralegals/law clerks on California employment litigation practice Run regular paralegal/law clerk Q&A sessions and one-on-one check-ins Help team members strengthen judgment, accuracy, and procedural knowledge Navigate communication and working-style differences across a remote international team Protect Quality and Deadlines Review case agendas and dockets to identify missed or upcoming issues Audit the case management system for accuracy and timely updates Review paralegal communications with clients for quality, tone, and accuracy Serve as a resource for California filing rules, deadlines, court procedures, service requirements, and litigation process questions Support Litigation Operations Coordinate adoption of litigation SOPs and procedures Provide procedural guidance when unusual or complex issues arise Occasionally provide hands-on case support when unusual circumstances or workload demands require it Provide support during trial preparation when needed WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR We are looking for an experienced paralegal with strong California employment litigation knowledge who genuinely enjoys developing people and wants to move into a more supervisory role with a predictable schedule. 3+ years of California employment litigation experience as a paralegal 1+ year of experience supervising, coaching, or mentoring others Strong knowledge of California court rules, filing procedures, deadlines, and service requirements Ability to spot errors, procedural gaps, and missed issues Strong judgment and the ability to apply procedural knowledge to new situations Patience and confidence teaching others who are still developing their skills Clear, professional communication across different personalities, working styles, and cultures Comfort working in a fully remote environment Availability Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Pacific Time Bilingual English/Spanish preferred, but not required WHAT WE OFFER Salary: $75,000-$90,000 per year, depending on experience Fully remote, live anywhere in the United States Predictable schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Pacific Time 401(k) and employer match Defined benefit plan Health insurance Flexible paid time off OUR VALUES We operate under four core values: Family, Accountable, Centered, and Thoughtful.
