Communications Coordinator - Police

Position Overview Under general direction, performs professional and administrative work in the coordination and dissemination of citywide information internally and to the media and general public; creates a variety of outreach materials for projects and programs in support of communications plans and strategies; develops timely and appropriate content; acts as a resource and liaison with the city's technology staff to provide technical assistance to City officials and departments in preparation of internal and external publications and social media; and performs other related work as required. Minimum Qualifications Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications, Political Science, or related field and two (2) years of professional experience in public relations, communications, public information, and print media; OR an equivalent combination of training and experience. Possession of a valid California Class "C" driver's license. Must be able to pass a police background check. Highly Desirable Strong written, verbal, and creative communication skills.
