Solutions Architect at Databricks About the role This role involves guiding public sector clients in adopting the Databricks Unified Analytics Platform. You will be a key technical advisor, helping organizations solve complex data and AI challenges. Your work will contribute to the expansion of Databricks' presence within government and educational institutions. Key facts Location: Remote - Texas Engagement: Full-time Team: Field Engineering What you'll do Collaborate with sales teams to demonstrate how Databricks addresses client business needs. Provide technical direction to clients throughout their evaluation and adoption journey. Offer expertise on distributed data systems architecture, build proof-of-concept projects, and validate integrations with cloud services and third-party applications. Develop and present reference architectures, instructional guides, and demonstration applications. Promote Databricks-aligned open-source technologies like Apache Spark, Delta Lake, and MLflow within developer communities through various channels. Travel to client sites within your designated region. Requirements A minimum of 6 years of experience in customer-facing pre-sales, technical architecture, or consulting roles. Proven ability to design and architect distributed data systems. Proficiency in programming and debugging with at least one of the following languages: Python, Scala, Java, SQL, or R. Experience supporting clients in the public sector. Demonstrated experience building solutions using major cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. Familiarity with Data Engineering tools including Spark and Hadoop, and Data Warehousing concepts like SQL and OLAP/OLAP/DSS. Must be a US Citizen. Nice to have A degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or Operations Research.
