Commission Clerk (P/T)

Town Of Simsbury Commission Or Board Minute TakerUnder the general supervision and direction of a Town of Simsbury employee, performs minute taking for a Commission or Board as assigned. Duties are accomplished outside of Town Hall with limited access to Town computer equipment and/or facilities. This position is a part-time position, requiring as many as 15 hours per month across multiple boards and commissions. Morning and evening hours may be required.Essential Job Functions: May prepare materials for Board or Commission meetings, potentially including agendas. May attend meetings in person or through recordings to prepare minutes and other records of actions as necessary. Additional Job Functions: Coordinates exchange of information as requested.Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to type with speed and accuracy Ability to take meeting minutes Knowledge of filing requirements pursuant to the Freedom of Information ActRequired Physical and Mental Effort and Environmental Conditions: Ability to work evening hours on a regular basis ability to sit at a desk and work continuously for extended periods of time Ability to move throughout the Town Hall and other Town buildings and sites Ability to attend numerous, extended night meetings during the year Required Minimum Qualifications: The skills and knowledge would usually be acquired with a high school diploma and one (1) year's secretarial experience.
