Role: QA Manager Location: San Ramon, CA (Onsite) Duration: 6-12 Months CTH Lead and manage global Automation and QA teams from both technical and project-management perspectives, providing hands-on technical leadership, architecture guidance, mentoring, and delivery oversight across enterprise Retail and E-commerce platforms. Drive quality engineering and automation strategies for Retail and E-commerce applications , covering customer-facing web and mobile experiences, product catalog, search, pricing, promotions, cart, checkout, payments, order management, inventory, fulfillment, shipping, returns, customer accounts, and related enterprise integrations. Design and implement modern, scalable test automation frameworks using Playwright, Selenium, API automation, CI/CD platforms, and cloud technologies, with a strong focus on maintainability, reliability, scalability, and execution speed. Develop automation strategies for complex Retail E-commerce customer journeys, including product discovery, search and filtering, product details, pricing and promotions, add-to-cart, checkout, payment, order confirmation, order tracking, cancellation, returns, refunds, and customer-service workflows. Build automated validation for critical E-commerce integrations and APIs, including product/catalog services, inventory systems, pricing engines, payment gateways, tax services, shipping providers, order-management systems, CRM platforms, and third-party services. Lead hands-on adoption of AI-assisted testing and AI Agent-based automation , identifying opportunities where autonomous or semi-autonomous agents can improve test generation, execution, regression analysis, defect investigation, test maintenance, and production monitoring. Develop and implement AI-powered QA solutions using LLMs, Generative AI, and AI Agents to accelerate test-case generation, test-data creation, exploratory testing, failure analysis, regression optimization, documentation, and quality engineering activities. Gain hands-on experience designing and integrating Model Context Protocol (MCP) solutions that enable AI agents to interact with testing tools, APIs, source repositories, CI/CD pipelines, application environments, monitoring systems, and other engineering tools. Build proof-of-concepts and production-ready solutions using MCP servers, AI Agents, LLM-based workflows , and tool integrations, applying these capabilities to practical software engineering and Retail E-commerce use cases. Establish an AI-enabled automation strategy combining deterministic automation with AI Agents and intelligent test orchestration, while maintaining appropriate controls for reliability, security, traceability, and repeatability. Develop comprehensive test strategies, test plans, deployment artifacts, automation standards, release procedures, and application monitoring processes covering functional, integration, API, regression, performance, security, and production validation. Establish a comprehensive view of the Retail E-commerce technology ecosystem and identify how Automation and QA initiatives can improve customer experience, release velocity, operational efficiency, application reliability, and business outcomes. Provide hands-on technical guidance to engineering and QA teams on Playwright, automation architecture, API testing, CI/CD, test design, AI-assisted testing, MCP, AI Agents, coding standards, and modern Quality Engineering practices. Define and manage quality processes to ensure Retail and E-commerce products meet required standards for functionality, reliability, scalability, performance, security, and production readiness. Establish quality standards, automation KPIs, engineering metrics, quality gates, and acceptance criteria across critical E-commerce business capabilities and communicate them effectively to QA, engineering, product, and business stakeholders. Partner with Project Managers, Product Managers, Engineering, and Business teams to develop project schedules, resource allocation models, delivery plans, and execution strategies for QA automation, software deployment, customer integration, and professional services validation. Oversee the global Application Portfolio Support team and drive effective incident-resolution management for business-critical Retail and E-commerce applications, including incident triage, escalation, root-cause analysis, problem management, monitoring, and continuous service improvement. Supervise and manage QA teams across multiple functional areas, establishing technical direction, delivery priorities, engineering standards, career development plans, and performance expectations. Oversee the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of Continuous Integration and Continuous Testing platforms, integrating automated testing, quality gates, reporting, artifact management, deployment validation, and environment management. Integrate Playwright, API automation, service virtualization, and automated regression suites into CI/CD pipelines to enable fast feedback, parallel execution, continuous testing, and reliable release validation. Implement intelligent test-execution strategies using code changes, business risk, historical failures, application behavior, and AI-assisted analysis to optimize regression coverage and execution time. Drive the transformation from traditional QA to Quality Engineering, emphasizing shift-left testing, automation-first development, continuous testing, observability, AI-assisted engineering, and shared ownership of quality. Establish automation and quality strategies for omnichannel Retail, supporting consistent customer experiences across Web, Mobile, Store/POS, Marketplace, Customer Service, and backend enterprise systems. Support testing and automation for high-volume Retail events and business scenarios, including promotional campaigns, seasonal sales, peak shopping periods, inventory changes, pricing updates, and high-concurrency customer transactions. Leverage production monitoring, application telemetry, incident trends, customer journeys, and defect analytics to continuously improve automation coverage and proactively identify quality risks. Evaluate and introduce emerging technologies in Generative AI, AI Agents, MCP, Playwright, intelligent test automation, observability, and developer tooling, translating relevant innovations into practical enterprise Retail and E-commerce solutions. Establish governance for responsible use of AI in software testing, including human oversight, data security, access control, reliability, auditability, and validation of AI-generated test assets. Collaborate with Engineering, DevOps, Product, Architecture, Operations, Retail Business, and Support teams to build an integrated automation ecosystem that improves customer experience, release quality, development velocity, operational stability, and business agility. Drive continuous improvement using automation metrics, defect analytics, production feedback, AI-assisted insights, customer-journey analytics, engineering standards, and modern software testing practices.
