Nurse Residency Program - Fort Washington Medical Center (Winter 2027)

Job Summary The Nurse Resident program is a year‑long experience designed to support your transition from college to professional nursing practice. During the residency you will complete clinical and classroom assignments, participate in mentorship, and develop competency through a structured curriculum. Upon successful completion you will have a minimum one‑year commitment to your unit of hire, after which you may transfer within the Adventist HealthCare system. Responsibilities Attend all assigned learning activities and clinical experiences. Arrive on time and prepared for all work and educational commitments. Complete all clinical and classroom assignments and maintain an 80% minimum passing grade. Rotate shifts according to program and/or preceptor’s schedule. Cover all costs for required books, materials, equipment, and transportation (some training may be off‑site). Work closely with preceptor, CNS, educators, and program coordinator to integrate and maximize learning. Participate in regular evaluation sessions to obtain and provide feedback on performance and program progress. Complete competency documentation and evidence‑based practice project prior to program completion. Qualifications Graduate from an accredited ASN, BSN, or MSN program within 12 months prior to cohort start date. Minimum 2.75 GPA preferred. Licensed as an RN in the state of MD or a compact state prior to start date. BLS certification (American Heart Association). Specialty‑specific certification (e.g., ACLS for ICUs, PACU) obtainable after employment. Solid analytical, critical‑thinking, and communication skills. Ability to work independently in a multitask environment. Computer proficiency.
