Job Description\n American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a travel nursing job in Midland, Texas.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: Labor and Delivery\n Discipline: RN\n Start Date: 10/05/2026\n Duration: 13 weeks\n 36 hours per week\n Shift: 12 hours, nights\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n Assignment Overview\n \n Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs\n Hours: 36 hrs/wk\n Start Date: Oct 5, 2026\n Length: 13 weeks\n Openings: 1\n Description\n American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift travel assignment requiring 2+ years of L&D experience and charge nurse background.Details\n \n Labor and Delivery unit in a hospital setting with 200-300 births per month\n RN will rotate through triage, antepartum, labor, circulate, and transition duties (no post-partum)\n Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00-7:00\n 13-week assignment length\n Cerner charting system experience preferred\n Requirements\n \n Active TX or compact RN license required\n Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, NRP\n Preferred certifications: AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate, FHM\n Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required\n Previous charge nurse experience required\n Must be able to circulate and perform transition of newborns as well as labor duties\n Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and infusion pump/drip monitoring required\n Onsite drug screen required upon arrival, including marijuana testing, with no exceptions for a positive result\n Additional Information\n \n Care for antepartum, high-risk antepartum, and laboring patients including assisting with vaginal and high-risk deliveries\n Perform newborn care duties including APGAR scoring, ID/security banding, and radiant warmer/thermoregulation management\n Administer medications including antihypertensives, insulin drips, magnesium sulfate, pitocin, and terbutaline\n Utilize external and internal fetal monitoring, including IUPC placement and calibration\n Recognize and treat abnormal fetal heart rate patterns\n Assist with C-section circulation and recovery, forceps/vacuum extraction, and hemorrhage/shock situations\n RTO must be submitted with application; some holiday coverage expected\n Pending license accepted at time of consideration but must be active before start date\n Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates not accepted\n First-time travelers considered as long as they meet experience requirements\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-753518.
