Details 32-bed Observation Unit affiliated with the Emergency Department for patients expected to stay less than 24 hours Patient mix includes chest pain, cardiac arrhythmias, heart catheterizations, laparoscopic cholecystectomies, UTIs, and DVTs Provider on-site daily from 7a-5p 3rd shift schedule, 7p-7a 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours weekly 0.9 FTE position Requirements Active, unrestricted RN license (IN or compact) required BLS certification required ACLS certification required ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred No prior experience required Proficiency in medication administration, wound care, IV therapy, and use of medical equipment Strong assessment, critical thinking, and prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment Effective communication skills for collaborating with interdisciplinary teams and patient families Additional Information Perform comprehensive patient assessments and document according to scope of practice and hospital policy Coordinate admission, transfer, and discharge activities including discharge teaching and case management coordination Deliver individualized, patient- and family-centered care and education Set priorities for care of multiple patients based on acuity and delegate tasks appropriately to team members Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities such as patient satisfaction, falls prevention, and documentation audits Promote a positive, healing environment through evidence-based nursing practice American Traveler Job ID P-746356.
