US Leveraged Finance is part of CIBC Capital Markets.A strong Analyst level candidate is needed to support the US Leveraged Finance Portfolio Management team. The team is responsible for supporting the execution of sponsor-backed leveraged finance transactions and managing the rapidly growing portfolio.Your responsibilities will include:Assisting in the execution of leveraged finance transactions including LBOs, Recapitalizations and Refinancings for new and existing clientsSupport the drafting and preparation of cohesive and cogent pre-screen memos and credit approval packages, including developing well thought out credit strengths and risks with appropriate mitigantsProviding analytical and structuring support to senior professionals on the Leveraged Finance team including building cash flow models, risk rating models and return modelsBuild detailed financial and cash flow models (“LBO models”), including developing detailed and justifiable assumptions and downside casesWork with senior members of the Global Leveraged Finance team and other business areas to conduct detailed due diligence, including working in data roomsWorking with internal partners to onboard new clients to the CIBC platformsMonitoring a portfolio of borrowers including providing quarterly, semi-annual and annual portfolio reviews and enterprise risk reportingCollect, assemble, and analyze market data and transactions and maintain lender base of deals and lender relationshipsHow You’ll Succeed:Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and take initiative.Highly analytical and detail orientedBe a team playerInteract, ask questions and generally be pro-active with team members and other CIBC groups in order to continuously grow your knowledge base and competenciesWilling to work extended hours in a high-pressure/high-reward environment.Who You Are:Extremely detail oriented, hard worker, seek excellence, can handle multiple things at once, energetic, pro-active and take initiative, write well, ensure accurate calculations in financial models/charts, ask questions, continuously learn from mistakes and don’t make the same mistake twice, put thought into everything you do, aren’t afraid to speak up, review your work before passing it on, format well, ask yourself “does this make sense?”, value accuracy over speed, strive for success, have a growth mindset, make yourself invaluable, recognize all the work that you do forms the basis of what is presented to clients, credit groups and management of CIBC and ultimately drives the success of the bank.Values matter to you. This role has an expected salary range of $115,000-$135,000 for the New York, NY market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component.
