We are actively hiring for a Model Risk Advisor – Remote

Your Role: The Model Risk Advisor is responsible for promoting effective governance practices, assisting in the maintenance and adoption of the AI policies and standards framework, streamlining and optimizing governance processes, and identifying actionable insights to close compliance gaps. This role will play a key role in fostering collaboration, driving compliance, and continuously improving AI governance within the organization.

Your Work:

• Engage with the enterprise AI community to promote awareness, understanding, and adoption of AI governance policies, standards, and responsible AI practices.
• Establish and maintain a complete inventory of statistical, machine learning, AI, and GenAI models, including ownership, risk ratings, and required model metadata.
• Assess model risk based on complexity, regulatory requirements, business impact, and usage, and identify emerging risks associated with AI and model activities.
• Implement and maintain Model Risk Management frameworks, processes, controls, policies, standards, and procedures in partnership with key team members.
• Monitor model performance, governance controls, KRIs, and compliance with established policies and standards, calling out issues as appropriate.
• Support model validation and testing activities by defining scope, assessing results, documenting findings, and communicating recommendations to team members.
• Participate in AI Model Governance oversight activities, including audits, peer reviews, governance reviews, and risk assessments.
• Develop reporting, metrics, and executive-level insights that provide access to AI governance, model risk, control effectiveness, and areas of concern.
• Partner with internal teams, Enterprise Risk, auditors, and external suppliers to maintain accurate governance documentation and address identified risks.
• Monitor evolving regulatory and Department of Insurance expectations related to AI and model risk and incorporate requirements into governance practices.
• Find opportunities to improve, automate, and streamline AI governance processes, tools, and controls.
• Evaluate governance processes and tools, resolve issues, and recommend improvements when appropriate.

Required Experience, Education and Skills

• 4+ years of experience in Model risk management related practices, risk, and audit.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information management, data science or a related field.
• Four years of work experience in AI Model governance, Model Risk Management, or Audit, information management can be substituted in lieu of a degree in addition to the minimum years of work experience.
• Knowledge of compliance monitoring and/or auditing principles.
• Knowledge of privacy, security, and AI Model governance standards.
• Capable of independently authoring and communicating technical and business information in a variety of formats and explaining complex and/or technical topics relating to AI Model governance.
• Good written and verbal skills, including an ability to translate technical information into concepts that are easily understood.
• Strong strategic, interpersonal, communication, and critical thinking skills required.
• Experience in deploying AI Model governance, Model Risk programs across a large enterprise.
• AI Model Governance policy, standard, controls establishment, enforcement, and monitoring.
• Proven experiences in AI ethics, governance, compliance, or related roles.
• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of AI governance principles, including ethical considerations, regulatory compliance (e.g., EU AI Act and AI Executive Order) and risk management frameworks (e.g., NIST framework).
• Good understanding of bias testing and remediation for machine learning and generative AI models.
• General understanding of risk and compliance principles as applied to AI Model Governance and data management solutions.
• Ability to lead and influence change within complex organizational structures.
• Strong social skills and the ability to collaborate at all levels of the organization.

The national average salary range for this position is $116,820.00-$129,800.00. However, we have a location-based compensation structure. Our salary ranges vary and are calculated based on work location. The starting pay range for this position across all the states we hire in is $116,820.00-$155,750.00. This role also includes an opportunity for a company-wide annual discretionary bonus, through our Annual Incentive Plan (AIP), of up to 8% of eligible pay.Colorado Specific Job Range :$116,820.00 - $142,800.00This job posting will be unposted on Sun, 4 Oct 2026.
