Insurance Actuary for AI Model Training

Apply actuarial expertise to create high-quality insurance reasoning data that improves advanced AI systems. This remote, hourly opportunity focuses on realistic pricing, reserving, valuation, and risk-modeling work across life, health, property and casualty, pensions and retirement, and enterprise risk. Key Responsibilities
- Develop realistic actuarial scenarios involving ratemaking, loss reserving, valuation, experience studies, assumption setting, and profitability analysis.
- Create pricing models, reserve reviews, actuarial memoranda, technical assumptions, and results summaries.
- Produce reference answers that reflect experienced actuarial-professional standards.
- Assess AI-generated work using structured rubrics for methodological rigor, calculation accuracy, well-supported assumptions, and clear communication.
- Identify flawed methodologies, calculation errors, unsupported assumptions, and missing rationale.
- Provide written feedback used to improve AI model performance.
- Take part in onboarding office hours and calibration sessions.
- At least 2 years of professional actuarial experience in any practice area.
- Understanding of how actuarial methods, assumptions, and data affect pricing, reserves, and valuation.
- Ability to choose an appropriate method, perform the analysis, and document a defensible conclusion and rationale.
- Excellent quantitative analysis, sound judgment, and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to distinguish actuarial analysis from underwriting decisions and from formal financial or legal advice.
- ASA, FSA, ACAS, FCAS, CERA, MAAA, a comparable credential, or active progress through actuarial exams.
- Experience in multiple actuarial practice areas or specialty lines.
- Background in reinsurance, capital modeling, or enterprise risk.
- Proficiency with R, Python, SAS, SQL, or actuarial software including Prophet, Emblem, Radar, or ResQ.
- Experience with regulatory filings, rate filings, or statements of actuarial opinion.
- Remote hourly engagement.
- Minimum commitment of 20 hours per week, with 40 or more hours per week preferred.
- The role is available to start immediately. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
$80 per hour.
