Punch Press Operator

Position Summary: Perform duties to set up and operate CNC Turret presses to produce a variety of parts in accordance with required specifications and work quality standards. Responsibilities: Work from setup sheets, prints, program tapes, routers, turret station board, and instructions:

6:00 AM - 2:30 PM
- Plan new setups, call up proper program, check setup sheet with turret station board to determine tool placement needs to perform operations such as punching embossing, notching, forming, and shearing.
- Load tools in tool holders and index as indicated in the tool sheet.
- Input program and set material holders in proper position on table.
- Run sample part and check dimensions and operations performed against print and adjust tool positions or replace tools as necessary.
- Operate machine, load and unload parts following machine cycle, check work for required operations and specifications, and place finished parts on skid.
- Monitor machine for proper operation, add oil to the reservoir and replace tools as necessary.
- Prepare job tickets, scrap, and daily production records.
- Notify Group Leader of unusual machine or material problems.
- Stack and move material as required.
- Experience operating CNC machines
- Experience operating a Turret Punch Press a plus
- Knowledge of blueprint reading highly desired
- Perform inspections using calipers, protractors, and measuring angles
- Ability to use a computer
- Mechanical and technical skills
- Inspect and maintain equipment with safety requirements
- Capable of doing repetitive movements
- At least 3 years of experience in Fabrication
- Daily standing position and lifting a variety of parts, sizes, and weights. (Up to 60 lbs.)
