Job Title and Summary Administrative / Caregiver Assistant (part time) Location Winston Salem, NC Summary The Administrative / Caregiver Assistant demonstrates the Agency's purpose, philosophy, policies, and procedures and serves as a team member overseeing day‑to‑day activities and needs of residents. This part‑time position is 20 hrs/week and reports to the Winston Salem location while supporting occasional duties in Marshville, NC. Qualifications Meets the general qualifications for employment as outlined in the Agency's personnel policies. Must be at least 21 years of age. Has at least a high school diploma or equivalent; advanced education preferred. No prior experience is required, but preferred. Meets qualifications of paraprofessional as outlined by the Division of Facility Services and Mental Health, State of North Carolina. Education, experience, skills, and abilities compatible with the responsibilities outlined in this job description. Must possess a valid driver's license and a safe driving record. Daily Responsibilities Manifests a Christian spirit and lifestyle in daily action. Demonstrates a working knowledge of the Agency's structure, services, policies, procedures, and performance requirements. Ensures residents are given opportunities to exercise rights and provides assistance as needed. Maintains confidentiality regarding each resident and their records. Assists Direct Support Professionals with transportation, household shopping, meal preparation, medication administration, and household cleaning. Assists with medical appointments and activity calendars. Reviews and mails auto reports on a weekly basis for homes. Reviews and tallies personal care documentation for Administrator signature and sends to appropriate location. Completes filing in resident charts daily and in personnel files as needed. Assists Administrator with tracking staff training needs, updates schedule, and quarterly audits of personal funds. Assists with planning and completing activity calendars, newsletters, and resident event forms. Records minutes of staff meetings, safety committee, and parent meetings. Tracks and schedules maintenance for vans, fuel, and emergency supplies. Maintains photo albums, scrapbooks, and inventory paperwork of food supplies. Assists Administrator with closing out resident cash and checks at end of month and copying Special Assistance checks. Tracks and assists in completing resident Therapeutic Leave forms and forms for Special Olympics and Happiness Retreat events. Assists with admission paperwork and completes forms for Performance Quality Improvement reports. Assists in making contacts for maintenance issues and tallying prompt levels for monthly progress notes. Ensures Safety Data Sheets are current and schedules fire extinguisher checks. Follows all sanitation, safety, and building code requirements. Cooperates with licensing and monitoring agencies. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor. Professionalism/Teamwork Represents the agency to various individuals, groups, and the public in a professional manner. Maintains professional standards as set by the agency. Builds and maintains individual and group relationships with various teams within I/DDM. Respects the rights of the team and keeps others informed of any changes in the cottage. Works under the supervision of the assigned supervisor. Respectfully embraces cultural and socioeconomic diversity of staff and residents. Participates in the agency's Performance Quality Improvement program as needed. Supervision Works under the direct supervision of the Group Home Administrator/QP. Participates in new staff orientation and monthly and annual trainings as directed. Maintains an open line of communication with supervisor, requesting conferences as needed. Participates in staff training opportunities provided by BCH and other agencies as requested. Participates in treatment team meetings and planning meetings as directed. Equipment Ability to work with Microsoft applications. Operate standard kitchen equipment. Must be able to drive a 12‑passenger van and get in and out of the van unassisted. Language Skills Ability to read, write, and complete necessary documentation. Effectively present information and respond to questions from supervisors, parents, therapeutic programs, counselors, and team members. Contact with Others Maintains regular contact with colleagues in all departments and with outside individuals and groups, representing Baptist Children's Homes of NC, Inc. in a positive manner. Mental / Visual / Auditory Demand Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form and draw conclusions. Confidential Data Complies with agency policies and procedures concerning confidentiality and HIPAA regulations, safeguarding all client information including care, case records, family information, medical information, and psychological services. Physical Demands Regularly required to drive and get in and out of a 12‑passenger van unassisted, walk up and down stairs, sit, stand, reach, talk, and/or hear, and lift up to 50 pounds.
