Registered Nurse - Operating Room (OR) - Shreveport, LA

Shift: 10H Days (0630-1500 or 1045-1915)

Hours/week: 36-40

Employment Type: Contract (13 weeks)

Licenses/Certifications: Requires licensed RN with BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and CSFA or CSA certification as applicable

Experience: Minimum 2 years in acute care, OR experience required, neuro/spine experience preferred

What You'll Do

• Provide direct patient care in the operating room across various specialties including robotic, neuro-spine, bariatric, transplant, and urology
• Circulate in multiple complex surgeries, supporting anesthesia and scrub teams
• Assist with position changes and patient monitoring during procedures
• Follow hospital protocols and safety procedures
• Maintain sterile environment and ensure patient safety during surgeries
• Collaborate with surgical teams, surgeons, and anesthesiologists
• Pass an EKG competency exam prior to start date

What You Need

• Current RN license in Louisiana or ability to licensure in Louisiana
• 2+ years of recent acute care RN experience, with significant OR background
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS certifications
• CSFA or CSA certification (preferred)
• Robotic surgery experience (preferred, especially DaVinci)
• Ability to work flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
• Strong neuro/spine, transplant, or general surgical skills

• Neuro-spine and transplant experience
• Experience with Meditech Expanse EMR and Alaris IV pumps
• Strong teamwork and communication skills

About the Assignment This assignment involves working in a fast-paced, high-acuity surgical environment with a multidisciplinary team. You will support complex cases such as robotic surgeries, neuro-spinal procedures, transplants, and bariatric surgeries. Orientation will be provided, including a brief hospital and departmental onboarding. Flexibility to work various shifts, including rotating weekends and on-call hours, is essential.
