Senior Scientist - Quantitative LC-MS Protein Bioanalysis

Amgen seeks a Senior Scientist to develop and optimize quantitative LC-MS bioanalytical assays for protein characterization and target engagement studies. The role supports drug discovery and development across multiple therapeutic programs through innovative mass spectrometry-based workflows and cross-functional collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Develop, optimize, and execute quantitative LC-MS assays measuring target proteins, abundance, engagement, and turnover
- Design and implement innovative bioanalytical strategies supporting drug-target interaction mechanistic understanding
- Apply mass spectrometry workflows to assess samples from plasma, tissue, and in vitro systems
- Troubleshoot assay development, sample preparation, data quality, and instrument performance independently
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to interpret bioanalytical data and communicate results clearly
Requirements
- Doctorate in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related discipline with strong LC-MS training
- Master's degree with 4+ years of relevant LC-MS bioanalysis experience, or Bachelor's with 6+ years
- Hands-on expertise in LC-MS method development for complex biological matrices
- Experience with proteomics workflows including peptide mapping and protein-drug adduct identification
- Proficiency with automated sample preparation platforms and LC-MS instruments (triple quadrupole, Q-TOF, Orbitrap)
- Strong troubleshooting and independent problem-solving abilities for analytical methods
- Excellent communication and data interpretation skills for multidisciplinary teams
Compensation: $143,820.85–$194,581.15 USD
