Project Engineer - Water/Wastewater

We are seeking a Project Engineer - Water/Wastewater to support the delivery of essential infrastructure projects from concept through to completion. This role will suit an experienced engineer with a strong understanding of water and wastewater treatment, networks, pumping systems, or related civil and process engineering works. You will work closely with clients, contractors, designers, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the required technical standards.


Key responsibilities will include developing and reviewing designs, specifications, calculations, drawings, and technical reports; coordinating multidisciplinary design activities; preparing project programmes, cost estimates, and technical submissions; and supporting procurement and contractor management. You will monitor progress against scope, budget, programme, quality, and health and safety requirements, identifying risks and implementing effective solutions. The role will also involve attending site visits and meetings, responding to technical queries, reviewing construction work, supporting commissioning activities, and ensuring accurate project records and handover documentation are maintained.


Applicants should hold a degree or equivalent qualification in civil, mechanical, environmental, process, or another relevant engineering discipline, together with practical experience in the water or wastewater sector. Knowledge of industry standards, construction processes, health and safety legislation, environmental requirements, and relevant design software is desirable. Strong project coordination, problem-solving, communication, and report-writing skills are essential, along with the ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively with a range of stakeholders. Professional registration, or active progress towards registration, would be advantageous. A proactive, organised approach and a commitment to delivering high-quality, sustainable infrastructure are expected.
