What You'll Do

As a Member Advocate, you'll compassionately deliver an exceptional experience to members who are looking for answers, guidance, and support with their healthcare benefits.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Answering incoming calls from members covered by our clients' health benefit plans
• Helping members understand healthcare bills, invoices, Explanation of Benefits (EOBs), and other benefit-related questions
• Helping members access providers and navigate the process of scheduling procedures
• Asking the right questions and actively listening to understand what each member needs
• Researching questions and using multiple systems and resources to find solutions
• Communicating with doctors' offices and other medical providers on behalf of members
• Educating providers about client benefit plans and available options
• Taking ownership of member questions and following issues through to resolution
• Partnering with internal teams when additional expertise or support is needed
• Accurately documenting member interactions and required information
• Meeting performance expectations related to quality, efficiency, first-call resolution, provider satisfaction, productivity, and attendance

What We're Looking For

You could be a great fit if you:

• Have at least one year of customer service experience or one year of experience working in an office environment
• Enjoy helping people and solving problems
• Communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing
• Are comfortable working on a computer and learning new systems
• Can manage multiple responsibilities and pieces of information at once
• Ask good questions, listen carefully, and pay attention to details
• Are dependable and understand the importance of being there for your team and our members
• Are motivated by goals, feedback, and opportunities to improve
• Want to learn, develop new skills, and grow your career

Experience with healthcare benefits, insurance claims, medical billing, or phone-based customer service is helpful, but not required.

Education: High school diploma or GED required.
