Lead and coordinate field survey operations, overseeing a survey crew of one to two Survey Technicians. Manage daily tasks, ensure productivity, and achieve efficient and accurate project completion.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate a survey crew, assigning daily work and managing productivity.

• Serve as the primary decision-maker in the field, resolving survey challenges and interpreting plans.

• Operate and oversee the maintenance of GPS/GNSS systems, robotic total stations, and data collectors.

• Review collected survey information to ensure accuracy and completeness before leaving project sites.

• Train and develop Survey Technicians in field procedures, equipment operation, and safe work practices.

• Act as the primary field representative, coordinating with contractors, clients, and property owners.

• Enforce safety policies and maintain accountability for crew compliance with safety standards.

Essential Skills

• Minimum 5 years of experience in construction layout and as-built surveys on commercial, civil, or infrastructure projects.

• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage field survey crews.

• Proficiency with GPS/GNSS equipment, robotic total stations, and electronic data collection systems.

• Strong understanding of survey plans, construction documents, and field measurement procedures.

• Ability to independently resolve field issues while maintaining quality and accuracy standards.

• Excellent communication and organizational skills for effective coordination with project stakeholders.

• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites.

Work Environment

This position is primarily field-based, requiring travel to project sites. Ensuring the safety and maintenance of equipment and adherence to safety procedures is crucial in this role.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Longwood, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
