Overview Registered Nurse (RN) First Assist position at BJC HealthCare in Saint Louis, MO. This role supports surgeons during procedures in the operating room and contributes to perioperative patient care. Role Purpose Acts as a first assistant to surgeons during surgical procedures in the operating room. Performs selected technical duties in an expanded perioperative role under the direction of the surgeon. Responsibilities Delivers intraoperative patient care as the first assistant to the surgeon as a collaborative team member. Maintains accountability for the provision of surgical instruments to the surgical team. Functions as a member of the surgical team and contributes to the overall efficiency of the perioperative department. Participates in professional development and lifelong learning.
