Registered Nurse ICU

This position requires a registered nurse for an intensive care unit. The average daily census in the unit is 19 patients. Patient populations will range from adults to geriatrics. General diagnoses include ARDS, sepsis, stroke, STEMI, DKA, and post-operative complications. The nurse may be required to manage a patient ratio of 1:2-3. The facility features 24 rooms with a variety of equipment including cardiac monitoring. Interdisciplinary support is available through various specialties such as respiratory services, physical therapy, and social services. Weekend work is required every other weekend unless specified otherwise. Traveling nurses must be prepared to float within the facility as required. If a major holiday falls within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work. Compliance with onboarding requirements is essential for timely start. All requests for time off must be finalized at the time of submission. No time-off requests can be made after the offer is accepted or during orientation week.

Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience required. First-time travelers are accepted. License: Georgia or Compact RN license required. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required prior to start. Must-Have: Experience managing ventilated patients. Experience with central line care and management. Competence in acute stroke management. Experience with CVVHD and CRRT preferred. Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias. Experience in post-cardiac surgery and post-neurosurgery management preferred. Skills in suctioning (endotracheal tube, nasotracheal) are desirable.
