Wind Farm Technician Associate

Wind Farm Technician Associate RWE Americas, LLC – Full time, permanent, start as soon as possible. Functional area: Operations & Maintenance. OpLine: Non-Exempt. This role supports the overall operations and maintenance of wind farms and related facilities to ensure safety and maximize availability. Responsibilities include safe execution of scheduled maintenance, troubleshooting and repair activities, training, safety exercises, and maintenance of plant tools and equipment. The candidate will provide technical guidance to the O&M team and maintain records through the digital maintenance management system. Responsibilities Perform all operations and maintenance activities safely per policies and procedures. Assist in acceptance and performance tests on systems and equipment following planned maintenance or outages. Execute safety and other wind farm related tasks when assigned and back up personnel at other RWE sites when necessary. Assist with turbine maintenance, including services, major component work and replacement, and troubleshooting. Assist with Balance of Plant procedures as needed, including substation and collection system maintenance. Adhere to the company's values and behaviors. Qualifications & Experience High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associate's degree in sciences or related field preferred; a 2-year or 4-year technical science degree (engineering, physics, power) preferred. Current journeyman or master electrician license preferred. Minimum 2 years of experience in operations and/or maintenance in power generation, transmission, or distribution. Vestas V120 experience preferred. Unrestricted driver license in good standing. Willingness to relocate within 1-hour drive of site. Ability to troubleshoot and repair electromechanical systems with solid theoretical foundation. Ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic circuit drawings. Identify energy isolation points and implement LOTO for protection. Knowledge of electromechanical relay, hydraulic accumulator, linear transducer, and electrical motor. Familiarity with power electronics, motor drives, AC/DC converters. Knowledge of computer network communication protocol and theory of operation desired. Ability to understand and communicate root causes. Good communication skills and teamwork orientation. Promote safety at all times. Initiative, able to work with minimum supervision and make decisions for discipline issues with limited information. Physical Requirements Office-based role with some travel and visits to field locations. Must be able to sit, walk, or stand for long durations.
